Lauren Boebert’s decision to abandon her district shows she knows how vulnerable she is and that her constituents are tired of her failure to deliver real results. Her decision to switch to CO-04 proves she is in this for her own self-interest, not for her constituents. A third term would mean she cashes in on a lifetime pension, and she knows #CO03 was poised to deny her that. This news doesn't change the reality we are facing in western and southern Colorado, and our challenges don't go away with her. Voters in the 3rd Congressional District still care deeply about the same issues that we have cared about all along -- protecting our water and natural resources, creating an economy that works for everyone, solving our housing crisis, and fighting to protect rural and small-town Colorado. Having spent over a decade and a half as a Spanish legal interpreter working in courts throughout Colorado, I have a deep respect for legal procedure and the right to due process. If a guilty verdict is reached, then he should be barred from primaries in every state, but the case in question was not criminal in nature, which means that as of now, Trump has not been convicted of insurrection. #copolitics #CO03

While I believe it’s incontrovertible that the former president engaged in insurrection and should be barred from holding office per the 14th, the #CO Supreme Court’s decision Tuesday should depend on the verdict in March. The state court should only rule on eligibility for office in the event of a guilty verdict, not on apparent guilt itself. #copolitics #CO03
