A depraved message calling for the murder of Zionists has appeared in East London. In the past year, two Jews were killed in Manchester as a result of an Islamist attack on a synagogue and two more were stabbed in Golders Green. Graffiti urging the killing of Zionists must not be ignored. It is a call for violence. Let’s be clear: Zionism is the belief that Jews have the same right to self-determination afforded to all other peoples of the world under Article 1 of the UN Charter. 80% of British Jews consider themselves to be Zionists; only 6% do not, according to our polling. Jews in Hackney – nor anywhere else in Britain – should not have to walk past calls for their murder.
