Today, on the International Day of Disabled People, Iām heading to 10 Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister, followed by a lunch meeting at the House of Lords with the Business Secretary Gareth Thomas and the @lilacreviewuk steering group for the launch of the Disability Finance Code for Entrepreneurship.
This landmark initiative highlights the untapped potential of disabled entrepreneurs and the crucial role we play in driving economic growth, innovation, and societal progress. The Disability Finance Code aims to break down financial barriers for disabled entrepreneurs by:
- Improving access to tailored finance products,
- Providing enhanced mentoring opportunities,
- Showcasing success stories to inspire and lead by example, and
- Actively supporting disabled representation across financial firms.
As David Raw from UK Finance said, "The banking and finance industry understands the importance of supporting entrepreneurs with disabilities and improving access to finance for all." This is a step towards a more inclusive financial system that empowers talent, unlocks innovation, and strengthens our collective future.
Itās an honour to be part of these crucial conversations, advocating for a fairer financial system that doesnāt just benefit disabled entrepreneurs but enriches society as a whole. Letās continue to celebrate inclusion, drive action, and recognise the transformative power of diverse talent in shaping a stronger, more equitable world.
Hereās to building a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
