Codon optimization is one of the most widely used (and misunderstood) tools in synthetic biology. And in many cases, the biggest limitation isn’t biology... it’s manufacturability. We dig into the issue on our blog. 🔗 hubs.li/Q04h8XcR0

🧬 How far can your DNA take you? For most teams, the answer is still constrained by what can actually be built. At Ansa, we’ve removed that limitation so you can design to the needs of biology, not the constraints of your typical DNA provider. 👉 ansabio.com

50kb perfect constructs change what I dare to design. When synthesis becomes reliable infrastructure rather than a bottleneck, I stop working around supplier limitations and start building the biology I actually want.

We can read DNA. We can design DNA. But building it? Still one of the biggest bottlenecks in biology. To mark #DNADay, we're sharing a chat with Ansa CEO @Jason_Gammack about where the field is going: ansabio.com/resources/videos…

As we reflect on #sustainability in science this #EarthDay, there’s an uncomfortable question worth asking: Why does the foundation of synthetic biology still rely on processes that generate so much waste? We believe there's a better way. Learn more: ansabio.com/technology/

AI design algorithms are generating more ambitious DNA constructs than legacy synthesis can handle. High GC content, repetitive sequences, long constructs that require assembly and cloning work that takes weeks in the lab. That's the bottleneck. @AnsaBio is attacking it with enzymatic synthesis: no harsh chemicals, no damage to the growing molecule, direct synthesis of sequences up to 1,005 bases (a world record) assembled into constructs up to 50 kb, delivered in under four weeks. @Jason_Gammack presents at @SynBioBeta 2026 with real-world data on where enzymatic synthesis outperforms legacy methods and what it actually changes about the build vs. buy decision for complex DNA. SynBioBeta 2026 is May 4-7th in San Jose, California, you can learn more about the conference and get your tickets here: syntheticbiologysummit.com/?…

The biggest limitation in DNA synthesis isn’t cost. It’s: • Sequence rejection • Unpredictable timelines Accessing complex DNA is only half the problem. Getting it when you expect it is what keeps science moving. 📑 Read the Tech Note here: hubs.li/Q047n2hW0
