Me, most of the time: lover of words, extensive vocabulary, voracious reader since a very young age, teased often for using “five-dollar words.”
Me, playing Wordle: is PLAST a word?
One of my pet peeves is when artists or church worship teams remake old Christmas carols trying to put their own spin on the song, but instead they screw the whole song up. If you’re not The Temptations or Sam Smith then just stick to the original melody. Do less.
Had to scroll back in @courtneyellis’ feed to find the original, but it’s so fun that I keep seeing screenshots of this tweet as a meme in my book-loving friend circles, and I’m not the one who shared it. You’re famous, Courtney!
Day 6 of Covid and I finally have the energy to look at vacation pics and I remembered I took these for @courtneyellis, my favorite birder! (Both from Hanalei beach on Kauai)
ALT 4 pictures in window-pane format. The top two are of a white and grey bird who looks like he’s wearing a red cowl. He’s very distinguished, even though he’s standing on the beach. The bottom two pics are a brown bird with a flat black head and a yellow beak, and it’s looks like he’s frowning, even though he’s also on a beach.
If you work in corporate America, I’d love your thoughts on this:
Most colleagues are full time, salaried. For the average person, regular doctor/dentist appointments can happen during the workday (maybe skip lunch that day, etc). (1of 2)
For the rare part-timer, would you schedule appointments during your normal work hours? Assuming doctors and dentists are still open during your non-work hours? (2of 2)
When we travel together, hubs books window for him and aisle for me. If the middle seat gets booked, we make someone’s day by giving them the aisle and I move to middle. Today is the first time in 32 years it’s ever happened to me in reverse and it’s amazing! #BidnessTrip
