Today we ask all of you to play a little Howlin’ Wolf on his birthday. He defined the blues, and the sound of England’s rock ’n’ roll scene was taken directly from him. 🎥: "Don't Laugh At Me" at the 1964 American Folk Blues Festival in England.

While Howlin’ Wolf never played Antone’s and passed away about six months into the club's run, members of his backing band made many appearances here. His right-hand man, guitar dynamo Hubert Sumlin, became family for decades.

Thinking of the amazing Jimmy Rogers on his heavenly birthday today. He first rose to prominence playing alongside Muddy Waters & Little Walter. At Antone’s, Rogers was a fixture & honorary family member, refusing to play in town for anyone but Cliff. We remember him everyday.
