In 1997, Begumpet Airport's runway used to have railway-style stop gates that would close whenever an aircraft was about to take off or land. A reminder of how much the city has transformed over the years. Video credit: @Yashinonx

Wow! It has been operating for a year now and that too opposite the Integrated Command and Control Centre, and the fire services department realises now that they should check if the fire safety measures are in place.
The Telangana Fire Services Department has cancelled the Fire No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued to the commercial building housing Niloufer Cafe on Road No. 12, Banjara Hills, following the detection of multiple fire safety violations during a surprise inspection. thehindu.com/news/cities/Hyd…

Kowkoor Forest - Heaps of garbage everywhere. This is just a one side of the area. There are dedicated zones for: > chicken feed > expired medicines > clothes, mattresses, furniture > rubble, construction debris and a make shift bar @CommissionrGHMC @MCMalkajgiri

Absolutely!! Always said this, it takes two to tango. The litter, the filth, the trash on the streets, in the water bodies & everywhere in the city is because someone failed to behave like a responsible citizen. Same goes for traffic violations.

It is easy to blame the Hyderabad civic body but some blame has to be borne by the uncivil citizens who discard everything from beds to refreshments in the nallahs. This is near Ameerpet. thehindu.com/news/cities/Hyd…

Kowkoor Forest - An environmental disaster has been unfolding with acres of green cover turning into garbage dumping site. Nestled between Yapral, BITS, CISF & CRPF campuses, this vast 'once pristine' forest area is now an illegal dumping site. 1/2

The rain 2 days back was to do a dip check on preparedness. Like in childhood days during any game it used to be 'trial' and 'all reals.'
Corrective Measures Underway to Strengthen Monsoon Preparedness!! Cyberabad Municipal Corporation's Engineering and Monsoon Emergency Teams are carrying out corrective measures at identified and newly observed water stagnation locations across the city. At Gaffar Nagar, works are underway to remove the iron grill at the water stagnation point to improve stormwater flow. At Vittal Rao Nagar, removal of the existing grating is in progress to facilitate quicker drainage during heavy rainfall events. At Khajaguda Lake, nala widening works are being taken up to improve carrying capacity and enhance the flow of stormwater. Meanwhile, at the water stagnation point opposite CARE Hospital, teams are engaged in clearing plastic waste and other obstructions to ensure the free flow of rainwater. The works are being carried out by CMC Engineering and Monsoon Response Teams in close coordination with the Cyberabad Police and Traffic Police, with continuous monitoring of vulnerable locations and implementation of necessary mitigation measures to improve traffic movement and public convenience during rainfall. Deputy Commissioners, Engineering officials, Monsoon Teams, Police, and Traffic personnel continue to remain on the ground, reviewing field conditions and taking up both immediate and long-term measures to strengthen monsoon preparedness across Cyberabad. #CyberabadMunicipalCorporation #MonsoonPreparedness #RainResponse #EngineeringWorks #CyberabadPolice #TrafficPolice #TeamCMC #BetterCyberabad #CitizenFirst @jayesh_ranjan @CEO_Telangana @TelanganaCS @TelanganaCMO @IPRTelangana @MC_Cyberabad @DigitalMediaTG @HiHyderabad @ZC_SLP @ZC_Kukatpally1 @zcquthbullapur

Just the first rains. FIRST rains of the season & the city has witnessed dystopian traffic in the area where land gets sold at prohibitively obscene prices. This is institutional apathy, they had good 6 months to prepare.

How does this benefit the state or it's people? An investment in hastening the metro expansion will be more sensible & benefit larger population. Easing local commute will have collateral economic benefits than a bullet train can offer.
Hyderabad to Mumbai in just 3 hours ? The DPR for the Hyderabad-Mumbai Bullet Train corridor has been finalised. 🔹 Length - 761 km 🔹 Travel Time - 3 hours 🔹 Estimated Cost - ₹2 lakh crore 🔹 Construction Expected From - 2027-28 Route to pass through: 📍Kokapet (TG) 📍 Shamshabad Airport (TG) 📍 Vikarabad (TG) 📍 Kalaburagi (KA) 📍 Solapur (MH) 📍 Pandharpur (MH) 📍 Baramati (MH) 📍 Pune (MH) 📍 Pimpri-Chinchwad (MH) 📍 Lonavala (MH) 📍 Navi Mumbai (MH) 📍 Thane (MH) 📍 Vikhroli (MH) #TelanganaRising2047 #BulletTrain

Same with the stretch from Military Hospital to Sub-area canteen, littered with plastic waste by those hawkers selling fruits. And those blue tin sheets used as periphery wall can collapse anytime.
RK Puram to Tirumalagiri stretch. Large scale dumping of waste and construction debris! Where are we going? @MCMalkajgiri @ApnaSecbad @HiHyderabad @SECBAD_CANTT

Car free Fridays launched at Mumbai's congested business district, BKC. 2 lac employees encouraged to use public transport for office commute. @CYBTRAFFIC @GHMCOnline Maybe you should consider something on similar lines.
BKC Goes Car-Free Every Friday MMRDA Launches Weekly Public Transport Day in BKC to Promote Sustainable Mobility Every Friday, BKC will choose public transport. In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the MMRDA, in collaboration with WRI India, has launched the 'BKC Weekly Public Transport Day', encouraging thousands of professionals across India's premier business district to leave their cars behind and travel by Metro, suburban rail, buses and other public transport modes. Announcing the initiative, Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, IAS, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, called upon MMRDA employees to lead by example by observing Public Transport Day every Friday. Inspired by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji's call to increase the use of public transport, the initiative is built on the belief that the future of urban mobility will be shaped not just by infrastruture, but by the choices we make every day.  As India’s leading business district, BKC has the opportunity to lead this shift by creating a culture of smarter, more sustainable commuting.  What begins as a #NoCarDay every Friday has the potential to become a powerful movement for cleaner air, reduced congestion, lower emissions and more liveable cities. #BKCGoesCarFree #BKCMoves #PublicTransportDay #CarFreeFriday #MMRDA #MumbaiInMinutes #ChoosePublicTransport #MahaMumbaiMetro #TravelGreen #UrbanMobility @PMOIndia @CMOMaharashtra @Dev_Fadnavis @mieknathshinde @DrSanMukherjee @WRIIndia @BKCmoves @mybmc @MumbaiPolice @MTPHereToHelp @PIBMumbai @MahaDGIPR @PIB_India @MMMOCL_Official

Cut trees. Destroy rocks. Encroach lakes or make them disappear. No parks or vast green spaces. Don't make rain water harvesting mandatory. The consequences will be obvious. Summers will get harsh. Water will be rationed.

This will remain on paper. Seriously doubt if the tallest structure of Hyd come up in a place like Ghatkesar. What will be the sales pitch? 80 km to Financial dist. 50 km to Airport. 30 km to multi-speciality hospital No malls. No schools in the immediate vicinity.
Tallest Tower of Hyderabad coming soon in East Hyderabad

One of the violation here is "lack of permissions". Let that sink in. You run a business without mandatory permissions. Grease someone's palm in the dept & manage. This is institutional failure. Crackdown on the officer under whose tenure the business was established.
#Hyderabad: Major crackdown on #spacentres in #Malkajgiri #Police inspected 113 spa centres and booked 46 cases for violations including #hiddenrooms without #transparentdoors, failure to collect #customerIDproofs, lack of permissions and poor record maintenance. Cases have been registered under BNS, ITPA and other applicable laws. Authorities have warned property owners and vowed continued inspections. #Hyderabad @MalkajgiriCop @SumathiIPS #PoliceCrackdown #SpaCentres

What an uncouth behaviour. We need mass education on civic sense and etiquettes in public places.
This video was captured today in Hyderabad Metro during a morning office commute. A man was seen sitting awkwardly with his foot resting on the seat - a clear lack of civic sense and respect for public property. What is happening to people nowadays?
