DM Tip #16: Make sure there's a healthy balance between overwhelming villains and curbstomp villains For every Ragnar the Blood Chief, there should be a Grimy the Rat Mage.....original character, do not steal #DnD

DM Tip #15: Need a way to spice up a familiar monster? Give it some class levels. Nobody expects a minotaur to start spellcasting, or the hydra to enter a rage. And nothing will the top the terror of the words "The Beholder is going to use it's Action Surge..."

DM Tip #14: Use the players' own perceptions against them. Everyone suspects the drow or the half-orc of being trouble, but few look twice at the charming halfling waiter as he secretly poisons the party's drinks.

DM Tip #13: Don't be afraid to draw inspiration from any source when creating unique monsters and bosses. Your players will never expect the Magic School bus to drive out of nowhere and begin to run them over #DnD

DM Tip #12: There are pros and cons of doing campaigns over skype calls. Pro: The players can't see you tearing your hair out as they curbstomp your plans Con: They can still hear you cry

DM Tip #11: If you introduce a child into a campaign, the party will adopt them. It doesn't matter if they have acid blood, rows of fangs, or actual parents who love and cherish them #DnD

DM Tip #10: Make sure to give your players a chance to let their characters relax and enjoy the sunshine before you send your next soul crushing plot at them like a freight train. A haunted freight train....I have my next boss, thank you.
4
DM Tip #9: If your players find a clever way to skip a boss fight you worked for hours to prepare, congratulate them publicly and add around 70 ogres to their next encounter.
7
DM Tip #8: If you're creating a new world, always encourage your players to create their own settlements/npc's to give them a more firm connection to the world. Also makes it so much easier to torture them later when they make you mad
5
DM Tip #7: Don't use one ancient dragon when a dozen angry owlbears will do. Always use owlbears. I like owlbears.
4
DM Tip #6: Prepare for the shipping....and not the naval kind.

DM Tip #5: Don't let @WardenKit be the cat DM. Never use cats. Don't give them the ability to start the cat flood....

DM Tip #3: Never let @BookwormMatt play a bard in one of your games.

DM Tip #1: Your players will always wreck your plans. DM Tip #2: Accept that. Seek vengeance later
