Having received a new bottle of the Conjure Sculpt resin by Chitu Systems, I noticed a discrepancy in the recommended settings printed on the label and those posted on the website. I tried those printed on the bottle and have confirmed they work well.

The third time really is a charm. I switched to using MSLA with @ChiTuSystems Conjure Tough resin with the same geometry as before. This test was a success with the integrity of the socket holding up without breaking.

V2 of the plug wrench is also a failure. It’s a matter of the wrong material for the job. The socket design worked out better than the previous wrench design, but this plug requires too much torque for standard ABS. The next tests will be the same design with different materials.

Version 1 of a plug wrench design is a failure, but that's why product testing is so important. The new @Revopoint3d MetroX scanner was used to quickly reverse engineer the plug that the wrench would loosen and tighten. The fit and feel are good, but not the function. On to v2.

Happy to report that the new laser is capable of cutting through 1/4” plywood without a problem. It takes two passes at 100% power, but it gets the job done.

Certain projects require engineering materials beyond the capabilities of PLA. PETG is supposed to be good for such things and easier to print than ABS due to less warping and better bed adhesion.

Adding new capabilities this month. It took some troubleshooting to get the mechanics working correctly, but the recent laser engraving test proved to be satisfactory. Now on to more testing.

3D scanners are great, but many customers with a product design idea don’t have a 3D model but rather a 2D sketch. A compact scanner is a great tool in this case to get the sketch into CAD to start the first design iteration.

Using the Mars 4 Ultra profile listed on @ChiTuSystems support site seems to work just fine for the Mars 5 Ultra machine. That’s what I found for the Conjure Tough resin anyway. I wish they would make such a profile for the ELEGOO SatelLite software.

The @Revopoint3d POP 3 Plus is best used with the dual-axis turntable to more easily scan the underside of overhanging features by using the tilting function.

The new model is getting close to being finished. Just a few more tweaks on a couple of features and the project will be done.

A custom hook to hold some modern tree stand climbing sticks on a hunter’s backpack. The top will be strapped to the pack while the bottom is cradled in this hook. The customer will be doing some field testing soon.
