"already crowded neighborhood" is such a galling NIMBY way of saying "I got mine & I'm slamming the door closed behind me"
There are multiple 5 story buildings already on this block. This low of a parking ratio is not out of keeping w/ many nearby buildings that have no parking.

Parking mandates are bankrupting our cities.

To be clear, the new standard is a little less awesome than the rules in Europe, where carmakers must pass crash tests relating to leg injuries for pedestrians. And that has not been proposed in the U.S.

I cannot wait for the 5/3 drive thru to eventually be redeveloped in the next decade when that too becomes more valuable as a location for housing than simply a drive thru ATM. When that time comes I hope it will be more than just a 4 story building.
