In parts of London and Birmingham, Muslim community groups have set up their own neighbourhood patrol units operating outside the official police structure. No public vote. No government approval. No clear accountability to UK law. Now imagine if any other community did the same thing. The headlines would write themselves. This is what happens when governments spend years ignoring their own citizens' concerns about integration and then act surprised when parallel structures start filling the gap.
