Bill Simmons said tonight that the top of the upcoming draft is his current #1 storyline in the NBA.
Said he’d bet anything that AJ Dybantsa goes #1 to the Wizards. Then doubled down on Cam Boozer going #2 to the Jazz and Darryn Peterson going #3 to the Grizzlies.

I can’t help but to think about AJ Dybantsa when watching Dylan Harper play.
Both guys shot 70% at the rim on 170 attempts in college.
That type of ability to get to the rim and finish at the rim is not normal.

On the other hand the JJJ trade signaled we want to win now.
This entire situation has been marinating in my head for a few days now. A lot of different layers to it.
A lot of it. But the tidbit I was referring to was about the Walker to Pacers trade. It had been reported that the 5th pick would not be part of the Walker package. Well I heard otherwise at this Best Buy. I’m not sure what to believe because I’ve heard conflicting things from trustworthy sources but if that pick was in there it’s a pretty substantial package to turn down.

Doubt they have any say, but talking to a Jazz player late in the season after the JJJ trade, and they said the one thing the team was missing was a knockdown shooter at two-guard.
Even if they don’t draft Darryn Peterson, I suspect a ball handling/shooting 2 is a FA priority.

We’re 11 days out from the draft. At this point the only thing that would truly surprise me for the Jazz is if AJ Dybantsa was available and they passed on him.
My best guess is:
Is AJ available? If yes -> he’s the pick
Cam Boozer vs Darryn Peterson is anyone’s guess.
