Haven’t listened to the second episode of “From the Ground Up, with Arva?” “Farmers get about 40 harvests in their lifetime. That’s not a lot of room to make errors or to try something new if you don’t feel fully confident in the change that you’re making. That’s why we find that having these implementers is really like the most important thing that we can do to help address some of that complexity and mitigate the risks associated with some of these changes.” - Kyle Kasten, US Sustainable Ag Lead, @PepsiCo Listen to episode 2 and subscribe to our YouTube here: na2.hubs.ly/H05P2-z0 #SupplyChainDecarbonization #ClimateSmartAgriculture #Scope3 #AgData #SustainabilityLeadership #FoodSystems #Podcast

There are moments at Arva that we realize will have significant impact and we feel grateful to be a part of continuing progress. This work - alongside the partnerships Arva has built - represents a major step forward in operationalizing the future of low-CI feedstocks and scalable 45Z implementation. Yesterday, Ryan Pearcy, Managing Director of Biofuels at Arva, delivered remarks at the U.S. Treasury public hearing on Section 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit, advocating for a scientifically rigorous, transparent, and audit-ready framework that supports both American farmers and biofuel producers. As the industry transitions toward an attribute-based biofuel economy, the integrity of the system matters. In his testimony, Ryan emphasized the importance of: → field-level traceability → mass balance chain of custody → primary data and scientific rigor → fraud prevention and audit readiness → ensuring farmers are properly rewarded for regenerative practices He also reinforced that the technology to deliver this level of traceability already exists today, including Arva’s own digital grain tracing systems. 45Z represents one of the most significant opportunities in decades to align U.S. agriculture, energy, and rural economic resilience. We’re proud to help shape what comes next. Want to listen to the full discussion? Farmers only get a limited number of harvests each year. And that means a limited number of opportunities to have a successful, plentiful harvest. That leaves very little room to experiment with new approaches without confidence in the outcome. Sustainable agriculture doesn’t begin with carbon markets or corporate commitments. It begins with ensuring farming continues to work for farmers and deliver productive, reliable results. On episode 2 of “From the Ground Up, with Arva: Bringing Corporate Strategy to the Farm Gate,” Catherine Coteus hosted our first guest, Kyle Kasten, the US Sustainable Agriculture Lead at @PepsiCo. The discussion touched on how sustainable progress in agriculture means supporting farmers with the right tools and resources. @PepsiCo emphasizes resilience by prioritizing soil health, water management, and farmer livelihoods. By understanding the unique needs of each region, we can tailor our approach to ensure that every farmer thrives. Today, @BASF and Arva announced a strategic partnership to help biofuel producers operationalize the feedstock component of the 45Z Clean Fuel Production Credit. As the value of biofuels becomes increasingly tied to feedstock carbon intensity (CI), biorefineries need better ways to identify and verify low-CI grain, while farmers need clearer pathways to be rewarded for the outcomes they deliver. Together, BASF and Arva are creating a more connected system for low-CI grain across both direct and commercial procurement channels, helping biofuel producers optimize 45Z tax credit opportunities without disrupting existing grain flows. Thank you to BASF for the partnership. Read the full announcement: lnkd.in/g_-mEKRg #45Z #Biofuels #LowCarbonFuel #RegenerativeAgriculture #Scope3 #AgTech

What are the effects of extreme heat and rainfall on bees – our keystone pollinators? Most climate conversations often focus on averages. But ecological systems don’t always respond to averages - they may respond to extremes. A new peer-reviewed study in Ecological Entomology, co-authored by Dr. Joshua Ladau, Senior Soil Scientist at Arva Intelligence, followed desert bee communities in West Texas for five years to understand how real climate stress shapes ecosystems. The findings reveal why climate impacts are nonlinear, delayed, and deeply context dependent — lessons that matter far beyond pollinators. We tend to make the story about average temperature increases – but it may be the extremes that really matter for our communities and the ecosystems on which they depend. New climate reporting rules are raising the bar for the food industry—and for regenerative agriculture. @Reuters highlights how the new Land Sector and Removals Standard (LSRS) is bringing much-needed rigor and credibility to how companies measure and report land-based emissions and carbon removals. There has long been a lack of clarity around how to measure, monitor, and confidently validate these outcomes. However, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol’s new Land Sector and Removals Standard (LSRS) has developed guardrails for companies to measure and report on their agricultural impacts. Catherine Coteus, our Vice President of Sustainability, discusses how the new standard provides a pathway to credible claims. This shift could transform the economics of regenerative agriculture. For CPGs, this is the moment that separates intention from execution. Our on-the-ground programs—and direct partnerships with farmers—matter more than ever to help companies achieve their goals. The 45Z tax credit could reshape agricultural supply chains. But only if feedstock data is audit-ready. Today, Arva is launching our new white paper on how biofuel producers, growers, and channel partners can unlock the full value of the US 45Z Low-Carbon Fuel Production Credit. The opportunity is significant: Low-carbon fuels can earn up to $1.00 per gallon — but only with traceable, farm-level data and defensible carbon intensity scores. Arva’s infrastructure helps ensure audit-ready data, traceable feedstocks, and defensible CI claims — enabling biofuel producers to maximize 45Z credits while supporting farmers. If you're working in biofuels, grain supply chains, or agricultural sustainability, this is essential reading. What is the definition of regenerative agriculture? This question is at the heart of Arva’s newest white paper: “Farming Outcomes That Matter: A Practical, Measurable Framework for Soil Health, Resilience, and Profitability.” Rather than defining regenerative agriculture by a list of practices, Arva focuses on measurable outcomes that matter to farmers and supply chains. The paper explores how agronomy, soil science, economics, and data science can work together to support durable adoption of regenerative agriculture at scale.
