CM Mamata Banerjee, has once again exposed her utter disregard for decorum, dignity, and the principles of cooperative federalism with the deplorable remarks she made on the floor of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, yesterday, while ranting incessantly & mindlessly. First and foremost, she as the CM of a State has no business meddling in India’s foreign policy, a domain that lies completely under the purview of the Union Government. Her attempt to sensationalize and misrepresent the Prime Minister’s and the MEA's diplomatic engagements reflects her desperation to deflect attention from her own governance failures. By casting aspersions on India’s foreign relations, she has handed ammunition to the nation’s adversaries, who will gleefully exploit her words to undermine India’s growing global influence. It has earlier been witnessed, through viral clips on Social Media, that her statements and political stand is welcomed by the panelists on News Channel debates in Pakistan. Her remarks are not just an attack on the Prime Minister but betrayal of India’s interests, which is affront to the unity and integrity of India. By resorting to crass and inflammatory language, accusing the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji of "falling at the feet" of foreign nations and "selling the nation's honour," she has not only insulted the office of the Prime Minister but has also demeaned the stature of India on the global stage. I call upon her to retract her deplorable statements and tender an unconditional apology to the Hon'ble Prime Minister and the people of India.
