I recently noticed that Ulquiorra vs Ichigo was probably inspired by Hunter x Hunter to an extent. There's the obvious layer of Ulquiorra's character arc being vaguely adjacent to Meruem's, but the fact the fight starts in an area riddled with pillars that get destroyed is funny

I love it when gege designs a character with eccentric complex hairstyles and then that hairstyle becomes undone after a long hard-fought battle.
Really shows the stress and effort these characters go through in the heat of battle.
