Even 24 years after retiring from the @NBA Wilt Chamberlain commanded a huge media presence at #NBAAllStar (1997, @NBA at 50, Cleveland)

Karl-Anthony Towns recorded the highest plus/minus in a single playoff run in the play-by-play era (since 1997), 258.

Seeing Kevin Garnett (2008), Kevin Love (2016), Andrew Wiggins (2022) and now Karl-Anthony Towns (2026) get traded from Minnesota and in < 3 years win an NBA championship, the question is: Does Anthony Edwards change that trend or some day add to it? Congrats to KAT.

Here’s hoping Tom Thibodeau cracked open a cold one or poured a fine sipping drink after tonight’s clincher. These Knicks don’t do this w/o Thibs’ heavy lifting. He got to NY in 2020 after team’s 7 losing seasons and led them to 4 playoffs, 4 series W’s and East finals (226-174).

But he would obliterate Joe DiMaggio’s second-biggest claim to fame.
A player could get a Hit in all 162 games…for 26 straight seasons…and he’d still be 44 Hits shy of Pete Rose

Look at that plumber who people say wouldn’t dominate today blocking Kareem. Well the current unanimous DPOY Award winner wouldn’t have sniffed the award if he was in the league today. He wasn’t generational. He was once in a lifetime. And that is a basketball truth.

“Anunoby came up with the two most crucial plays of his team’s improbable comeback. First, Anunoby got a piece of De’Aaron Fox’s layup attempt with 11 seconds left to set up the Knicks’ final possession. Then he flashed up the lane as Jalen Brunson’s 3-point shot hit the front rim, splitting two Spurs defenders and getting his right hand on the ball to boost New York to a 107-106 lead with 1.2 seconds left.” OG Anunoby's GAME FOR THE AGES headlines @AschNBA’s 4 takeaways from the Knicks’ historic Game 4 comeback victory. Game 5: Saturday at 8:30pm/et on ABC.

Imagine the mess if Castle made the shot in time but only because clock operator didn’t start when KAT tipped
Yes, Karl-Anthony Towns deflected the pass and saved the game.

All the pieces fit for the Knicks Wednesday night at MSG. And a home team finally won a game in these Finals. nba.com/news/4-takeaways-spu…

For those who want to see it again. (NOT for those who gave up on the lopsided game and turned it off. 😠)

Still waiting for the first ones that read “T’Wolves” to satisfy all the Cowherd fans who were arguing with me. #lame
Just a reminder: the original unis in ‘89 did not have “Timber” on them. Neither did the (terrible) ones that came right after the trees were ditched. The 1st iteration of the sailor jerseys were only Wolves as well. This is not a new thing.

Jerry West won the very first Finals MVP playing for the losing team. LeBron James, given the Cavs’ injury-depleted roster, should have been the second such winner. Mine was 1 of his 4 votes.
This vote never made sense. LeBron got 4 votes being on the losing team and the guy who couldn’t gained him got 7 votes and the MVP. The real MVP of the series, Steph Curry got zero votes. @ryenarussillo ha discussed this in some detail. The most confounding Finals MVP vote ever
