In typical Sam fashion, he sent me a picture of this plaque from school earlier this week without any explanation. I still don’t have a lot of information, but after learning a bit about it from his coach, I’m completely honored that he was a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski High School Student Athlete of the Year voted on by the Charlotte Touchdown Club. The Bronko Nagurski Trophy is a prestigious award given annually to the nation’s top defensive collegiate athlete voted by the Football Writer’s Association of America and the Charlotte Touchdown Club.
