Creating a Decentraland browser client based in threejs 🍕 Much to improve but its been less than 24 hours and we already have - scenes loading - basic lighting and dynamic skybox controls - avatar profiles and custom wearables - networked positions, chats, emotes - camera controls - some ui and settings

cheap infinite lights with screenspace-aware crossfading. at some point i'll give froxels a go but my hunch is that it will kill mobile, who knows.

huge step toward more detailed worlds with live terrain sculpting, painting, grass, wind and props. i also overhauled the allocator so that it dynamically manages everything to ensure you see things really far away, keep everything nearby in high detail, and aggressively stay under GPU budget. and yep, this still runs nicely on my six year old iphones web browser!

density based terrain details, starting with grass! we can expand this out to rocks, plants and flowers. so far all the terrain, water and detail code has been ultra performant, no noticeable drop in performance on mobile either.
