What a day! What an event! Sun shining, music pumping, physical activity and activation for over 200 students. πͺπΌπ€πΌ just another way #activeschools is helping to improve enjoyable outcomes and connections for all students, staff, parents and wider community!

Just one way we have used Active Schools funding to improve our spaces for physical activity. In a joint venture with the secondary school we share campus space with, what once was a flood prone patch of gravel, now turned into a multitude of opportunities for physical activity!

Took a risk with the F-2 cohort and went through some Paralympic Games events. Needless to say engagement through the roof, as well as learning about being inclusive and understanding the differences we all have. Definitely recommend. Can you guess the sports?

We also spoke about the challenges of each activity and what activity students found most enjoyable. Wheelchair basketball was interesting!

Can the Vic government just tell us today if #melbournelockdown is going to extended, so teachers and students can adjust quickly. This is probably the most anxious Iβve felt in a lockdown and I know my students too. π

I am looking to install permanent soccer/hockey goals on a asphalt space in my schools outdoor play space. Does anyone know any supplier for this? Tried my usual sport suppliers and not getting what Iβm after.

Would like to know what #FMS people kick off with in the first term? Iβm kicking off with some small ball handling and progressing to catch and over arm throw. Locomotor movements with the younger students!

Taking away specials/ electives such as Art, Music, PE, etc. to add more content for testing is the same as taking away recess. It may sound like a good idea, but many children come to school for these classes and removing them may remove their joy for learning.

Looking at tackling some curriculum development within my team this year, first thing looking at the Vic Curric content descriptors and turning them into βI canβ statements for Learning Intentions/Increase student understanding. Anyone tackled this before? Keen to collaborate!
