There are 153,000 students in Peel Public Schools. At $200 per student, over $30 million will be taken from @PeelSchools and given directly to parents. Imagine what our local schools could do with over 30 million dollars!

Today my destreamed Gr10 Eng class co-constructed their first assignment with me and I wanted to capture the experience including what I learned as the teacher.

It took a long time. It wasn’t smooth or efficient. But they worked hard and got there in the end and pointed out where one category was not being evaluated sufficiently and adjusted the criteria themselves. And they all agreed making an assignment was harder than they expected.

They deeply understand the criteria. They talked to each other about assessment. We might need to still adjust criteria which is okay. And next time will be smoother as will the time after that. Worth it 💯
