I can’t help but wonder if history will ultimately show that today, June 12, 2026, was the day the planet’s dominant orbital launch provider passed the proverbial hat and people tossed in enough currency for humans to eventually set foot on Mars.

Meet my crewmate Abby! #Purdue1
History incoming. 🚀 On the Purdue 1 mission, Abigail Mizzi will become the first graduate student to conduct research on a commercial suborbital flight. Learn how Mizzi’s #Boilermaker experience prepared her for this opportunity. ⬇️ purdue.university/4oemWLD

Roscosmos has paused Friday’s structural repair efforts inside the Zvezda service module transfer tunnel, known as PrK, as more measurements and data is assessed. Given this development, NASA has instructed the crew members inside the Dragon spacecraft to end the safe haven procedures and return to planned operations aboard the International Space Station. We look forward to working with Roscosmos on a collaborative approach to address the leaks.

Heads up UK folks, especially Scotland and NI:
The @vardaspace W-4 reentry capsule, which failed to deorbit last month, reentered over Wick, Scotland at 1402 GMT (3.02pm BST) Monday. Since it had a heat shield, the possiblity of finding debris on the ground exists.

The NASA proposal to create a government-led “core module” to assist commercial space stations (CLDs) appears to be dead. Most of the CLD vendors will celebrate this.

WOW! Remarkable video from 5 miles from the launch pad in Jetty Park. Watch that fireball, and listen around 35 seconds into the video for the massive audible explosion. 📸: John Concilus

Based on a handful of sources, this is what I've been able to glean about the New Glenn failure this evening in Florida. TL;DR, it's freaking bad. arstechnica.com/space/2026/0…

An interesting comment by NASA Administrator Isaacman at the ASCEND conference this morning: "The next time the world tunes in to watch astronauts fly around the Moon, which will be likely in sometime in 2027, they will be taikonauts, and America will no longer be the exclusive power to send humans into the lunar environment."

Here’s our Purdue1 crew having fun at the statue of alumni Neil Armstrong. For the record I absolutely do not equate myself, a suborbital professional astronaut, to orbital or lunar professionals. Different jobs! An honor, though, to fly for Purdue! fox59.com/news/full-crew-ann…
