🚨🚨Mark your calendars for G-JAM2025 meeting organised be me and Sandro Cellerino. We will discuss human aging, longevity interventions, molecular and systems aging, comparative biology of aging, sex-specific aspects of aging and more. Looking forward!

Unpopular opinion - It’s hard to find a cancer biologist who doesn’t believe their work can lead to a solution for cancer—clear goal. Yet, I’ve spoken to young PhD students in aging research who don’t even believe we can significantly improve lifespan, let alone tackle aging.
Day 4 of #ARDD2024, and my mind's buzzing from all the groundbreaking science we've covered! From dietary mimetics to drug repurposing, it's been amazing. But here's the twist: what if you could enhance health without diets, drugs, or effort? (You can!) Come check out poster 107!
Indeed, it is so unfortunate we couldn’t have a small reunion here at #ARDD2024 Maria.
I will be there and would be happy to answer any questions on how to replace diet with light 🎉 find me at poster number 107 on Thursday poster session or around the conference!
Sadly, I can't join @ARDD_Meeting this year. But if you want to learn about unlocking personalised metabolic health without diet, meds or exercise, please find @AsyaScienceAge there. Some details of our innovative tech can be found below, but Asya has all of the important updates
I and Pablo (new postdoc in our lab) created thinking periods in between work (3.5 minutes) where we hypothesise how to solve aging and the sand-clock is the allegory we start with.
Super stimulating discussions already!
Following the #sylt scandal…
The video was taken few minutes ago from my apartment balcony in Cologne.
I have lived in Germany for almost 8 years.
Tonight first time ever I felt so unsafe. The hatred and ignorance have no place in any society. #staysafe
Popular diet practiced for weight loss may cause accelerated aging: study suggests that ketogenic diet promotes cellular senescence in multiple organs by stabilizing p53 in an AMPK dependent manner. science.org/doi/10.1126/scia…
Absolutely thrilled to be part of the birthday of an amazing woman turning 100. It’s an absolute bliss to see someone so energetic and turning 100. Longevity is possible, let’s work for it and aim towards living even longer!
Preprint alert 🚨🚨. It is known that mitochondrial impairments cause premature aging. But "natural causes" of mitochondrial demise during normal aging are obscure. Here we identify membrane lipid phosphatidylcholine as a mendable culprit of mito-aging 🧵

Is forgetting a bug or a feature? Can you delay it and remember longer? Our 🥶COOLEST paper to date (and our most poetic abstract…) Show LOVE ❤️and please SHARE! Thread (1/N)👇

Our most surprising observation: metabolic effects identical to days-weeks of dietary restriction are achieved in just 12-24 hours with a single low-dose ultraviolet B treatment in mice that have free access to unlimited food. Weight loss without sport, diet or drugs? (see🧵).
Replacing diet 🍏 with light💡: our new preprint shows that ultraviolet B treatment replicates effects of fasting in ad libitum fed animals (worms & mice) by triggering transient mitochondrial fragmentation. Clinical applications are in development.

Are you interested in a non-invasive , non-pharmacological intervention to trigger your mitochondria and get all the benefits of DR?
Definitely give a read to my PhD paper that is out in Biorxiv!

Why do organisms age? We attempted to present a unified overview of evolutionary genetic and physiological theories of ageing, with a focus on emerging evolutionary physiological theory – developmental theory of ageing (DTA): bit.ly/4c59xiG 1/5
🚨🚨Our new paper describes interventions that extend lifespan and health span via active suppression of energy metabolism. We also propose that diets, which activate TOR (e.g. high protein), may accelerate metabolic aging in the long-term (🧵below). nature.com/articles/s41467-0…
