The local opera scene in Melbourne would be so undernourished without the hard work and talent @MelbourneOpera combine in bringing the art form to so many. They deserve recognition...and some government funding wouldn’t go astray.
Melbourne Opera has been honoured with 8 commendations in the 4th annual OperaChaser Awards - Anthony Negus - Outstanding Conducter (Independent) for Tristan and Isolde Daniel Sumegi -... operachaser.blogspot.com/201…

I didn’t know you were there Paul!! Thanks for coming. X
A preview of a new Aussie musical took fab form tonight. Under Suzanne Chaundy’s direction, The Dressmaker became a beautifully detailed story full of quirkiness, touches of poignancy, a variety of musical moods and a great cast. Until 26th Oct. @MonashUni’s Alexander Theatre.

Pretty-voiced Hester Van Vyver glammed the stage with poise and colour as the dressmaker Tilly. Sue Ingleton’s outrageous and uncouth Molly was a show stealer and Josh Gardiner impressed big time as Barney. Then again, there were many more names in Dungatar that did as well.
