Between the 1890s–1920s, hundreds of carved “tablets” surfaced across Michigan… stone, copper, slate etched with pseudo-Hebrew, fake Egyptian motifs, Christian iconography, and invented scripts.
Most people stop at “hoax.”
That’s lazy.
What makes them interesting isn’t whether they’re ancient (they’re not), but how organized the deception was.
Same symbols.
Same theological themes.
Same regional clustering.
Same time window.
This wasn’t one bored guy with a chisel.
Evidence points to a coordinated religious-nationalist fabrication, tied to late-19th-century movements trying to retrofit America into a Biblical past… often to overwrite Indigenous history with a “chosen people” narrative.
Not ancient.
Not random.
Not harmless.
The relics are fake but the ideology behind them was very real. And it didn’t disappear.
That’s the part worth paying attention to.
