Worst comes to worst, this will definitely be a movie with a cult following.
Just got out of the theater and really enjoyed it. I especially loved Skeletor who stole the show every time he was on screen.
This is coming from someone with no real connection to the OG series.

Disappointing for sure, but again Amazon has already expressed that they consider this film a success because of fan reaction alone and anticipates an even greater success with the streaming numbers when it hits Amazon Prime. Not to mention how much merch they’ve sold out.

I forget not everyone knows MOTU, they didn’t watch the old cartoons, read comics or anything, they just don’t know peak like I do. But you don’t have to know it to enjoy this one. I promise, it’s great for everyone!
I’d say it’s my fav Live Action adaptation of all time!

Worth noting that the 1983 and 2002 cartoons are free on Amazon Prime, which is who made the film and where it is going. Amazon has enough money to drop a couple more movies and/or a series, so it they want to make this a thing for kids today, they have a lot of muscle to try.
I think - I hope - that Masters of the Universe will achieve something of a cult following in the future.
It has a legitimate hero's arc.
It has honestly bad guys, and honestly good guys.
It has humor and action and engagement.
And it has a fair bit of fan service.
