Well-argued article from @DrPeterWeiss about the mask situation in America — Doc you should DM us, we’d love to hear your thoughts on elastomeric respirators. theepochtimes.com/mkt_app/un…

If you have a good seal, elastomeric respirators are extremely effective at protecting the wearer. Cloth masks… not so much.
I realize I do not know a single person who has caught COVID-19 with a high efficiency mask or respirator. Does anyone? Data suggest high efficiency masks are key to protecting against this virus by blocking both infectious aerosols leaving source (best) and inhalation (2nd).

We are doomed as a country if it is this easy to cripple our infrastructure

Follow up on this that I found fascinating… I assumed the exploit would be in the physical controls. Something literally preventing the flow of operations. Nope. Hackers just shut down billing. No gas if we don’t know who to bill!

Military folks know cloth masks don’t do jack. No seal, bad filtration. PAPRs and elastomeric respirators are the clear choice but if the CDC had recommended them in March ‘20, our thin supply lines would’ve been overrun. Medical professionals need them first.

Honestly, anyone immune-compromised and unvaccinated should be wearing a PAPR of some kind at this point and fuck what people think, I would not get on an international flight right now without one and let people take pics and laugh if they want...

@RealSexyCyborg probably a top 10 twitter follow. Absolutely spot on. Most elastomeric respirators have a check valve that exhales your breath to atmosphere. Our elastomeric respirator has a check valve that exhales to a filter. Designed for COVID safety.
Elastomeric respirators are trending- about 18 months late like everything else: x.com/RealSexyCyborg/status/… Keep in mind you'll have to disable the check valve and the filters will have to be changed more often as the moisture from exhalation tends to block them.

@RealSexyCyborg DM us if you’d like a mask to try out. No retrofitting or modding required. Not quite as ugly as the one you shared, either 😮‍💨🤌

Excellent thread on the efficacy of masks. Hint: there is none. Cloth masks are practically useless. Elastomeric respirators can help. PAPRs will probably keep you safe. USA is not prepared for any of that.
Masks don’t control the spread of respiratory viruses. How do we know? 1. Widely studied and accepted prior to 2020. 2. Studies in favor of masking are shockingly weak. 3. Oceans of data from past 18 months - if masks worked we would see it. But we don’t. Details follow.

Replying to @Delta
@Delta doesn’t allow source control respirators on their flights, only masks. The theory being that respirators have valves straight to atmosphere. No room on their planes for source control respirators apparently. @Delta you should DM us. We can help make your rules safer.

A policy that prefers gaiters or cloth masks over respirators filtered on both exhale/inhale is fundamentally misguided. Penny wise, pound foolish. Missing the forest for the trees. @Delta give us a ring. You got the flying part down, we got the breathing part down.

Morning @SpaceX, @elonmusk, and @NASA_Johnson - Breathing in space is remarkably similar to breathing underwater - and we've been doing that for over 30 years. We know how to reduce your logistical requirements for the moon and mars. Give us a shot - you'll be surprised.
30 Apr 2021
Hi @elonmusk - did you know that people increase respiratory rate, but decrease tidal volume during hypercapnia?

convo in the office: So, what's your marketing plan? Oh, that's an easy question- spam @elonmusk about breathing shit until he capitulates to our benevolent glory. no- really - what are you doing for marketing? umm spam the shit out of @elonmusk on Twitter?

Morning @elonmusk and @NASA_Johnson setting up the logistics for the moon and Mars missions must be a nightmare - we can help make space for things like food and shelters. Leave the breathing to us.

Morning @elonmusk - Have you discovered the wonderful smell of amines yet? Logistically, I bet they are a nightmare. We don't use amines for CO2 adsorption.

Hi @VinnyLingham - we know of a way to increase the adoption of CVC. $CVC can be much more than a door opener for Johnson Controls.

Hi @elonmusk - did you know that without significant air flow, the CO2 content in your space suit would quickly become toxic?

Hi @elonmusk - we haven't asked in a while - what are you going to breathe on the Moon and Mars? We've got the answer if you've got the time.
