I literally was the Head of Strategy at Twitter. Not even kidding. Anyone who followed me last year knows this is true - @elonmusk can verify.

Hey #gameaudio I know of at least a handful of folks who got cut in the layoffs today. I’m sure there’s more. Who’s hiring audio people right now? Drop some links. We gotta help our own <3

Folks, I have a friend who runs an #accessibility #a11y company in #minneapolis who's in need of someone to help develop an #elearning suite (currently in #wordpress). Please share. Open to #remote. #paid position!

As the metamates would say, “Signal Boosting”. @getsentry is a great company.

If anyone on the systems engineering side of the house was affected by META layoffs @getsentry has a handful of roles open. We also generally make space for great candidates even if there’s no open rec. Feel free to DM.

This is a fun thread if you do any direct to disk #audiorecording, and why I often advocate for a separate hardware recorder as a parallel backup. 🧵

I also tested some #NLE s as well. I remember at the time that Audition did okay (and we made it better) Premiere did terrible (flushed to disk in large chunks and we made it better too). #Cubase did exceptionally well from what I recall.

But this would’ve been like 2006 and on HDDs and not SSDs. It helped give clear test-cases for the crash recovery functionally in Audition, which was quite good. But if you’re doing mission critical recording, use an external recorder which can run on batteries as well.
