@AustinBarack is reading this right. The "@AskVenice doesn't have a Mythos" takes are measuring the wrong thing. Frontier leads last 3-4 months, not forever. with 500 labs chasing, a mythos-class equivalent is months away, not years. Access you don't control, and data you can't see, is the part that doesn't come back. That's the whole base:0xacfe6019ed1a7dc6f7b508c02d1b04ec88cc21bf bet: private and permissionless AI, the need nobody knew they had until they got switched off.
Have seen a bunch of people pushing back on the Anthropic news being a positive catalyst for Venice user growth and $VVV with variations of “well it’s not like Venice has a model that can compete with Mythos.” That’s entirely missing the forest for the trees. Sure that’s the first order effect but the second order effect is the impact on user data and privacy. If one of the top AI labs is willing to switch off access to users at a moments notice, what will prevent them from sharing all of your personal data or gating models/features based on user profiles (location, nationality, background, etc). It’s not about what other models does Venice offer that can compete with Mythos today but rather when you use Venice, usage is private/anonymized/uncensored. The other implication of the Anthropic news is the clear need for decentralized training and open source models that can one day compete near the levels of the models produced by the frontier labs. That’s a long term problem to solve but there are also a lot of interesting protocols working on this, some with liquid tokens but many still pre token launch.

$VVV up 20% today on news of Anthropic limiting access to its Mythos model due to US gov regulatory action. Not many better catalysts for Venice.

Erik Voorhees explaining the importance of preserving AI as an institution not controlled by government

Erik Voorhees explaining the importance of preserving AI as an institution not controlled by government "I would start by just conveying that important institutions of civilization shouldn't be under the control of any group of people" "when i started getting into the AI space, I realized that we have this additional new institution, which is machine intelligence, and this is becoming very quickly as important as money or as mathematics" "and if it is served to the world by a few tech companies who do whatever the government tells them to do, then that's a big problem and I see that would lead to a very dystopian kind of future" "the whole reason we started Venice was to create an antidote to that, to basically allow anyone access to unrestricted machine intelligence"

Man this is the mother of all catalysts for open source AI. Gazillions in civilizational wealth will be produced by whatever crypto teams ultimately build the infrastructure for permissionless AI and autonomous agents.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

There's a reason we built Venice
What people are missing about the US government's AI regulation announcement: ID verification will now be forced on all accounts to prove citizenship. Frontier labs will take your data, and your sovereignty is officially dead. A permanent underclass division and a total control society are beginning right now. People ignored me when I started saying this last year, but it is happening right in front of our eyes. Get into Open-Source and Sovereign AI. Advancing together through collective intelligence is the only way to fight back.

Decentralized, permissionless, uncensored AI running on crypto plumbing is probably the most important battle arena of the next five years. Actions like today’s are eye openers for many, but we knew. We knew governaments, technocrats, big companies where hoarding compute, talent, resources. A more and more centralized and dystopian future where social divide is even more prominent. Where access to frontier models is stonewalled. It gives crypto once again a mission. A clear flag to carry. The 0 to 1 moment is happening this year. Things will only accelerate going forward.

Predicting @AskVenice hits 4 million users by month end (accelerated by the Anthropic news today putting a spotlight on the need for private AI). I estimate the market size for private AI is at minimum 20% of total AI users (and this is conservative in my opinion since privacy is particularly important when you are sharing all of your data). As a comp, 23% of global internet users use VPNs and it is arguably much more important to have privacy for AI. ChatGPT has 1 billion monthly active users. With continued growth in AI adoption and even faster growth in private AI usage, this is easily a 500 million user opportunity. As the market leading product, I firmly believe this is just the first inning of $VVV's growth.
13 months to the 1st million Venice users. 6.5 months to the 2nd million users. And as predicted, half of that again to 3 million users (just about 3 months for the 3rd million). 4 million users in the next month and half or so is my next prediction. $VVV continues to be my highest conviction AI token and the data is making it very easy to gain even more conviction with time. Congrats to the @AskVenice team on this amazing growth!

As far as I can tell (from a number of conversations) people generally fall in two camps re Aero 1) unaware that the largest spot DEX on Base goes live on Ethereum mainnet in 3 weeks, or 2) don't believe it will gain much market share (I've heard 5-10% share discussed as bull cases) I think $AERO catches a lot of people by surprise

inference is going to be one of the biggest commodities on the planet -- fable is an actual demigod that lives inside the datacentres, accessible via your computer and soon, in 3-6mo, we will get multiple fable-class models from china too -- while some folks might stick to the major labs, everyone else who wants cheaper inference, more options w/ privacy lack of censorship and ability to own the rail (vs getting in after a $1T IPO), @AskVenice will be for them actually crazy that we get access to this at a <$1B mcap -- a consumer AI company w/ 3M users, tons of models across all modalities and an insane team/roadmap like this would be priced at multiples in private markets but being in crypto is likely discounting it right now -- but then as numbers and revenue continues to go up and the picture becomes clearer im certain we will see a crazy repricing of the asset

Fable 5 is state-of-the-art on nearly all tested benchmarks, with exceptional performance in software engineering, knowledge work, scientific research, and vision. The longer and more complex the task, the larger Fable 5’s lead over our other models.

One of the highest usage days all time of $DIEM on the 7th. Seeing increased growth in daily utilization as well. Compute is the lifeblood of AI and tokenized compute will be how access to this resource is traded, hedged, guaranteed for future requirements, consumed, etc

Perps will be just as common (and in many cases the preferred product type) within a very short period of time, especially now that we have perps on equities, commodities, and indices. There will also be multiple (not many) winners. In my opinion it will all come down to product experience, compounding effects of liquidity moats, and distribution.
Nobody is trading stocks any more: it's all just options and levered ETFs
