Today was the Annual Mountaineering festival in #Kurdistan. It was held in Akre, with 800 hikers from 40 clubs showing up. “A way for Kurds to redefine our relationship with the mountains,” was the most powerful summary I heard of the growing popularity of the outdoor scene here
