Im deutschsprachigen Europa liegt das grundsätzliche Problem sicherheitspolitischer Debatten über militärische Bedrohungsszenarien und notwendige Gegenmaßnahmen – etwa zur Verlängerung oder Wiedereinführung der Wehrpflicht – darin, dass diese weiterhin als abstrakte Gedankenspiele wahrgenommen werden und nicht als reale Gefahr für Leib, Leben und den Erhalt von Wohlstand.
