A school reached out to AvSec Auckland station business manager Chris McKechnie following Cyclone Gabrielle, noting that children at smaller Hawke's Bay and Napier schools had lost everything, and that for many schools, budgets would now be more constrained and realigned.

With SH 5 still a limited access option, John Garden (pictured) delivered scissors and sporting equipment that had been relinquished at screening in Auckland, to a teacher in Tauranga. Those items will be uplifted & distributed to various schools via the Principal's Association.

All scissors with blades of more than 6cm in length, measured from the fulcrum, are restricted from carry-on luggage but they can go in your checked-in luggage.
