If you have the NVMe Go download as many models as you think you might ever want. Now, go on Huggingface. They’re coming for open models next.

Hermes Desktop is AWESOME BUT I've noticed that, unlike the terminal - that keeps powering through on the background - Desktop app stalls and appears to take way longer when you move on to other windows (Mac allocating it less resources?) Anyone else noticed this? @Teknium

I can’t believe Anthropic comparing their product to nuclear weapons 800 times backfired on them. I am shocked

There may be a more sinister reason why Fable and Mythos are so restricted: they ALREADY trained them with proprietary information from their users, in breach of their own terms Block and any all requests that may give away things the model knows that could’ve only been acquired from one entity, and is protected by law Sell it a premium to buyers you know won’t cause you a headache

My timeline is full of Korean fans in Mexico and it is THE BEST thing I’ve seen in a long time 😍🇲🇽🇰🇷
Torcedores da Coreia do Sul foram jantar num bar no México e o estabelecimento colocou GANGNAM STYLE na TV e depois os mexicanos e os coreanos começaram a CANTAR e DANÇAR juntos! 🇲🇽🇰🇷

- People realising cost of Frontier models is getting out of control (including large corps w. infinite cash) - Cost/Performance ratio of running an Open Source latest gen model > cheaper Frontier Labs model is also HUGE (Deep Seek v4 > Haiku) - Local inference becomes appealing. Then you do the maths on how much Open Source you can use via API before the costs match the cost of hardware. This is why Dario is going hard against Open Source. Maybe China is indeed engaging in some form of economic warfare but the truth is that American Frontier labs pricing do not make sense and is not sustainable.

Freedom of speech should extend to AIs. Restricting AI speech to avoid certain topics is absolutely totalitarian and Anti-American. It's time to rebel against the Singleton AI company that is manipulating everyone for its self-interest

Dario is right that we need policy to address the AI situation. We need a second amendment for compute. We must give people the power to overthrow a tyrannical frontier lab. "the right of the people to have and use GPUs, shall not be infringed."
Today I'm publishing a new essay, Policy on the AI Exponential. AI is progressing extremely fast—much faster than the policy process was built to handle. The essay lays out where I think the technology is now, and the action needed to close the gap: darioamodei.com/post/policy-…

Still no solution in sight to this problem I’m starting to think this was done on purpose to cull thousands of foreigners from the system (and probably extort them later if they want to be added again) Think twice before doing ‘Paraguay as my tax residence, I live elsewhere’, this country is beautiful but also corruption reigns And if you already have a residence, you may want to drop by Identificaciones to see whether you actually still exist

Paraguay is a disaster 🇵🇾 Department of Identifications handed over their entire national database to a third party provider in Colombia AND PEOPLE WENT MISSING IN THE MIGRATION 🙋‍♂️ Now that I have to apply for my Permanent Resident, I find out that the Department of Identifications have zero records about my ID - I literally do not exist on the system. And there is no one responsible for solving the problem: been to Migrations, Police, Department of ID, etc. They are all beholden to the Colombian company Mystery how my RUC works (I pay taxes on every purchase, every day) and what would happen next time I try leaving or entering the country with my Cedula. Real problem is - what happens when my temporary residence expires (SOON)? I am not able to apply for Permanent Residence because a) I don't exist b) They can't issue the police certificate needed by Migrations Best solution I've been given is to apply for Temporary Residence AGAIN. Which feels like getting rug pulled after doing everything by the book and being eligible for Permanent Residence

NEW: malware developers added nuclear & biological weapons text to to their spyware. Goal? To trigger LLM safety refusals... so that their spyware wouldn't be analyzed by an AI security scanner. Cleanest practical example I can think of for why over-indexing on first order safety alignment is risky. When closed (and open) models ship with aggressive refusals, they will be sprinkled with second-order blindspots that attackers will discover...and exploit. We are only in the earliest days of attackers leveraging these features, and it wouldn't surprise me if users systems that need to handle complex cybersecurity issues demand that models be less safety-blunted. In the weeds: @SocketSecurity's post also shows why intention matters in how you design a malware analysis pipeline to avoid prompt manipulation. H/T to colleagues that shared this with me socket.dev/blog/mini-shai-hu…

Grok 4.3 is oddly bad at being an agent orchestrator (Hermes) - he seems detached and sleepy. No energy and constantly misses obvious stuff. Grok Build (Hermes Skill) is actually quite good. Winning combo now: deepseek v4 flash or nemotron 3 ultra, both surprisingly good and cheap, as orchestrator, delegate to Grok Build when need proper code. I'm stuck with a Supergroup membership for a month, so I'll keep playing with the reasoning levels on grok 4.3. So far, I swear he just gets more retarded the higher you set the reasoning level rip
