The key to a great budget is NOT what software/spreadsheet/program you use. It's how you communicate about money (either with yourself or with others). Let's work through a good budget meeting.

I'm on the Everyday Bucket List podcast! I get to chat about our trip to Kennebunkport (spoiler: loved it).
Right now, New England is showing off—charming towns, coastal views, and just the right weather. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to visit, this is it. karencordaway.com/best-time-… #edblpodcast #TrueCrime #Maine #CT #Massachusetts #NewEngland #podcast #TravelNow

I love the reaction in our Facebook group when @MetProSystem's Angelo Poli joins us for an episode. Hilarious:

Much like the clown car has gotten full on Twitter, the clown car in Cleveland just became standing room only. #ShedeurSanders #NFLDraft #browns

Some great feedback from our HR Benefits guide - our new Tax Guide is out TODAY! "I purchased the SBBG because I have been listening to the SB podcast for a couple of years now. I trust the information and guidance I consistently receive from Joe, OG and guests. I also enjoy the humor and banter on the show. I read Joes book Stacked and the guidance and humor were top notch. My expectation was that the benefits guide would be helpful and thorough which it is. And the guides release is very timely for me and my family." Tax guide link: stackingbenjamins.com/taxgui…

Spotify comments! I was this many years old when I discovered these. So fun...(how come I'm finally seeing this goodness???). We'll start doing polls over there and have some fun.

Since my feed is constantly full of politics, I came back to ask, "What happened to the price of gas and eggs going down?" It took less than two weeks for a reversal on another set of fibs. If like me, you're sick of half-truth drivel, you can find me on Bluesky (no politics on my feed there at all...much better).

I was sharing @Downtown when he was on Stacking Benjamins. Great interview.
Yes it was!! 😀 Joe said that on the Afford Anything podcast, although he was quoting someone else when he said it.

@AverageJoeMoney Auto-correct on my phone is drawing interesting conclusions. (None of which I disagree with)

I find it intriguing when fee-only financial planning firms pay commissions to influencers to hock their amazing "we don't charge commissions" product. ...and all of their advertising rips into any financial planning other than fee-only and CERTAINLY talks down to advisors who accept commissions.

I don’t espouse goal setting. Instead I love adventuring. Goal setting means I’m going to toil at a task and possibly not enjoy it. There will instead be the promise of a big rainbow at the finish line. That is all a lie. The rainbow at the end of the ugly, miserable distance — if it exists at all — is fleeting. The journey IS the goal. By enjoying the steps in the path you become stronger. You embrace the moment. You are here for the present. “Now” is your joy.

If the real estate bros stopped promising something for nothing and started helping you realize buying property is an ACTIVE pursuit of outsized returns we’d all be better off. We stopped our real estate podcast partly because the stench of “something for nothing” became unbearable. That only took about 16 mos.

There is no such thing as “passive income.” Time to get to work.

This will happen. Enjoy your health insurance in 2025 and get everything done that you need done.
Trump is likely to let enhanced ACA financial aid expire after next year, cut outreaching funding, and make it harder to enroll. Republican control of the House could pave the way for more sweeping changes. This will mean more people uninsured and higher costs for people.
