I am saddened and greatly disappointed at hearing the confirmation that HYBE has started to OPT-IN for DYNAMIC PRICING for concerts, which have started with the US concerts and will be considered for other regions from here on out.
The music industry’s greed by not paying their artists fairly, thereby practically forcing their only means of earning an acceptable living and to putting food on the table to be away from their families, touring.
Flipping this to the case of Bangtan. BTS ARMY has proven time and time again over this past decade that we understand that truly supporting our favourite artists means buying digital & physical copies, of their music - most of the time buying multiple copies of each version. And by continuing to stream their music.
The only time we have the opportunity to see BTS in person, especially us I-ARMY, is during concert tours. Due to the lack of acknowledgement that there are other regions of the world outside of the USA, Japan & Korea who want to see BTS in person. Many of us choose to fly to the opposite side of the world, just to be able to attend these concerts. This means additional costs for flights, accommodation & expenses which is no small financial matter.
On top of music-related expenditures, BTS ARMY also shows our enthusiastic support for other non-music-related merchandise. Let me list this for you to illustrate just how much SUPPORT we already show. I’m ONLY listing from 2022 onwards:

In the past, it has been expressed that concerts are the artist’s way to connect with their fans and for BTS & ARMY, at least, holding these concerts is also a way to show our gratitude for supporting one another. The company now choosing to opt-in for dynamic pricing is not in any way showing gratitude – rather it is a slap in the face of all the ARMY - who have thrown our already considerable financial support and as well as continued streaming efforts to back up our claims.
I understand that the pandemic & now BTS’ enlistment is causing many issues for the planned revenue streams for the company. But how dare you be so bold-faced as to put your on-paper investors OVER your audience and MAIN CONSUMER BASE!?!? I suggest you rethink your plans for the remainder of 2023, the inevitable slowdown of 2024 & 2025 onwards, because choosing to show your gratitude to your main source of revenue, for our efforts, by slapping
#BTSARMY with concert ticket price hikes of over 300% on average, is a fast way to discourage further spending. We are already fighting this war on 2 fronts by contending with ticketing scalpers & Ticketmaster's own greed - by
#HYBE confirming that dynamic pricing is your choice "because you can" infuriates a fandom you should not be testing on this matter!
