WEST BANK PALESTINIAN DEATHS SINCE 2023 EXCEED PREVIOUS 17 YEARS COMBINED
A new analysis by Oxfam, based on UN data, says Palestinian deaths in the occupied West Bank between 2023 and 2025 have surpassed those recorded in the previous 17 years combined.
According to the report, 1,244 Palestinians, including 268 children, were killed during this period, compared with 1,036 deaths between 2006 and 2022.
Oxfam also reports a sharp rise in displacement, with nearly 46,000 Palestinians forced from their homes in the last three years due to military operations, demolitions, violence, and movement restrictions. It adds that settler attacks and access barriers have significantly increased across the territory.
More than 925 movement restrictions now affect the West Bank, while over one in five Palestinian fatalities over the past two decades were children.
Palestinian officials and international legal experts have repeatedly raised concerns over settlement expansion, demolitions, and forced displacement in occupied territories, citing violations of international law and worsening humanitarian conditions.
How can the international community justify silence or inaction when documented UN-linked data shows a sustained rise in civilian deaths, child casualties, and forced displacement in an occupied territory over multiple years?
