When some Sims cc creators are making £300K/year from paywalled mods, it's easy to see why they're so mad at Paralives players being like NOT ON OUR WATCH. They just saw another cash cow, and now they're mad that players are calling them out.

I’ve officially been blocked by @/TwistedMexi over this, so I’ll reiterate:
Paywalling a mod for a month for an early access game (only been out for DAYS) where you know ppl will immediately want enhancements, while already heavily supported is grounds for discussion.
Disappointing response from you considering you already make a ton of money off the Sims. Regardless, it’s strange to paywall a Cam mod for an Early Access game for a month.
Maybe a week or 2, but a month? You knew what you were doing, whether the devs say it’s okay or not.

I want to add to this, because I'm a bit of a dick.
I spent under an hour tweaking a single .settings file this morning and got something really similar to a "Sims 3 Camera" in Paralives.
The game is shockingly easy to mod, even for an idiot like me.

No one is demanding free labor here, but it’s abt not wanting the culture of $$$ > generosity in an indie game in early access that hasn’t even released yet, where the devs’ motto is free content.

Shoutout to the Paralives community for not tolerating the same paid mods bullshit that's plagued The Sims for years.
Some Simmers only play The Sims and don't know that paid mods aren't normal in basically every other game.
Some modders are trying to take advantage of that.

I don’t even think most people are against the monetization itself, it’s just the intent. like paralives drops, they see everyone complaining about the camera, and their first thought is to put a fix behind a month-long paywall
