Same feeling! For the past 12 years, we've been building on top of Bootstrap 2, 3, 4, 5, way before Vuejs or Angular existed. We've seen all the rise and fall of multiple component libraries (and the fall of some of ours too) and @shadcn is the best one so far.
A huge number of our users wanted simple ways to "import just 1 component" from our UI Kits, and having a monolith structure was a big blocker. We didn't know how to do that till we found the shadcn way. Now shadcn is powering our UI Blocks, our AI Builders, our AI Agents everything!
I want to write one appreciation post about @shadcn
This time not about the technology, but about the person behind it.
We all know @shadcn is kind of a hidden identity, and we don't know much about him publicly.
But I had the privilege to dm with shad a few times, and I can honestly say he's one of the nicest people ever.
Sometimes I even feel bad making so many shadcn/ui videos, because I wonder if it looks like I'm just farming views from it.
But the truth is simple:
I started using shadcn 3 years ago because I really loved it, and I'm using it on every project.

Moving to pure HTML will have a lot of benefits. The AI context will get bigger and bigger, so you will be able to generate multiple types of content from a single source of truth. And, having content editable in pure HTML CSS could be the solution for the AI Slop when you generate branding assets. Our builder is already there for this usecase

Our AI Agent for apps, dashboards, ads, slides etc. is live, you can see how the Ads example is working. you get a lot of variations for Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok etc. you can use this for Organic content too, everything can work with your brand. More examples coming soon!

Today, we’re open-sourcing the draft specification for DESIGN.md, so it can be used across any tool or platform. We’re also adding new capabilities.
DESIGN.md lets you easily export and import your design rules from project to project. Instead of guessing intent, agents know exactly what a color is for and can even validate their choices against WCAG accessibility rules.
