Here is the simplest way to remember them: โ†’ Type 1 error โ†ณ False alarm You concluded there was an effect when no real effect existed. The smoke alarm rang. There was no fire. โ†’ Type 2 error โ†ณ Missed alarm You failed to detect an effect that truly existed. There was a fire. The alarm stayed silent. โ€”- This is why p-values, power, sample size, and study design are connected. A study can be wrong in two directions: โ†’ claiming an outcome that is not there โ†’ missing an outcome that is there Type 1 error is linked to alpha and false positives. Type 2 error is linked to beta, low power, and false negatives. โ€”- The true lesson here is that Do not hunt for statistically significant results. Ask whether the study was designed well enough to avoid both kinds of wrong conclusions. This is worth getting right early.

My cofounder paid thousands to a consultant to study abroad in USA . Got into zero schools. The night they called to demand more money for another round he decided to do it himself. Second time around with no consultant he got into multiple schools. Ended up at Minerva University. Full scholarship. Then spent his senior year helping 11 other Ghanaian students do the same. Today Philip Boakye is a Software Engineer at Netflix. Previously interned at Microsoft and Pinterest. Heโ€™s the CTO of Goscholar . Two founders. Same story. Different paths. Same mission. No African student should need an expensive consultants to study abroad . goscholar.ai Please repost to reach students trying to study abroad ๐Ÿ™

Letโ€™s pray: Heavenly Father, I come before You in the name of Jesus, thanking You for carrying me through this month of April. Lord, as I stand on the 29th and approach the final day, I declare that nothing You ordained for me this month will be left undone. Every blessing assigned to April locate me now in Jesusโ€™ name. Father, redeem every lost opportunity, restore every delay, and accelerate what seemed held back. Your Word says in Joel 2:25 that You restore the years the locust has eaten so I call forth restoration before this month closes. I speak prophetically: I will not carry unfinished battles into May. Every struggle attached to April ends now. Every spiritual resistance breaks now. Every weight on my mind lifts now. Father, let there be a divine turnaround in these final hours. Where there was โ€œno,โ€ release a โ€œyes.โ€ Where there was delay, release speed. Where there was silence, release answers. Every good thing meant for me this month I receive it now. I will not miss it. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
