Bit of an update to MSP/visa stories...
BBC Scotland News understands that any MSP who loses the right to stay in the UK would NOT be able to carry on as an MSP. They would be disqualified from sitting in the Scottish Parliament.

Couple of important clarifications about this:
- the 20 hour work rule does not apply to elected office in local or devolved positions
- the changes to the law that made running for Scottish Parliament on a student visa possible were backed by the Conservatives
šØ NEW: Green MSP Q Manivannan may have already breached the terms of their student visa.
Immigration rules must apply equally to everyone, including politicians. The Home Office must urgently investigate.
