"Hey, did you know that's nearly the end of #Springwatch?"
"Who?"
"I said - that's the end of Springwatch!"
"Well, how are we supposed to enjoy the best of our regional wildlife now?"
"I suppose we could follow Yorkshire Wildlife Trust on here..."
"...Who?"

These iconic butterflies can be seen flying between May and June in damp or chalk grasslands where they lay large batches of eggs on their food plant, Devil’s-bit Scabious. 🌼
The larvae spin conspicuous webs that can easily be recorded in late summer. 🐛 #Springwatch

The Marsh Fritillary was once widespread but has declined severely over the last century, and is now threatened, not only in the UK, but across Europe. #Springwatch

We love a pine marten - although this unexpected visitor to Spurn Point last year (not exactly a pine marten magnet) left us scratching our heads!
Along with our friends from @NatureSpy, we realised ours came from Dalby Forest - 60 miles away!

This goshwak has us shaking in our boots 🫠
Known as the phantom of the forest, goshawks can fly through the trees at up 40km per hour as they hunt birds and small mammals! 🙃

Well, good golly gosh(awk)!
If you fancy an opportunity to enjoy these amazing birds of prey whizzing past, our Ellerburn Bank nature reserve on the edge of the North York Moors is a prime location! (With some pretty good views to boot)

DAY THREE mural update. I’ve had another fantastic day painting my #wildlife mural at #Arne for @BBCSpringwatch 🎨 🖌️
Looking much more colourful now. Still have lots left to do tomorrow!
You’ll be able to watch me LIVE painting on BBCiPlayer from 11am.
Macromarvellous! Sometimes it really is the little things... check out these amazingly beautiful moths and butterflies!
Yorkshire is actually home to 2/3 of our butterflies and macro-moths - so many colourful gems to spot out and about if you look closely.

We've had plenty of drama on our live wildlife cameras this year 🎥 🐦
Plenty of predations 🐍 but plenty of fledging too, like these Reed Warblers who fledged their beautiful nest earlier this week 😍🪺
Continue to watch our wildlife cameras until 9pm tonight!

DAY FOUR 🎨 🖌️
Back at #Arne painting my wildlife mural for @BBCSpringwatch
Lots left to complete by the end of today! I love it when it all starts to come together. You can see my completed mural on tonight’s @BBCSpringwatch on BBC2 8pm.

Okay we can’t kelp it, we’re going to talk carbon sequestration. Kelp absorbs CO2 whilst it grows – up to 600 million tonnes every year, which is more than double the number of emissions produced by the UK each year.

Caught red-handed by the Puffarazzi!
If you want to give Yorkshire's puffin population a hand, why not download our Puffin Protector Pack?
Come along to Flamborough Cliffs every Sunday until 21st July, and our volunteers will even help you spot one!
