In behavioral science, systemic nudging has emerged as a critical tool for fostering positive change. This is particularly relevant when we consider road driving. We blame drivers for poor driving without acknowledging the broader systemic issues.

In India, the chaos on the roads is an example. Poor road conditions, inadequate infrastructure, and flawed road designs contribute to unsafe driving behaviors. It’s not just about individual drivers making poor choices; it’s about a system that fails to support safe driving.

Systemic nudging involves creating an environment that naturally encourages better behavior. For instance, well-designed roads, clear signage, and effective traffic management systems can nudge drivers towards safer practices. This shifts the focus from individuals to the system

The soaring narratives to dream big, shoot for the stars are great platitudes. Dr David Clawson here argues that the platitude peddlers should let humans be..to meander through life, slowly with purpose and no grand logic defying vision psychologytoday.com/us/blog/…

While an extra 27 minutes of night sleep may not necessarily increase work output and productivity, a short nap in the afternoon has some desirable outcomes! Short afternoon power naps it is! #notWEIRD #fielddata @FrankSchilbach

Using personal goals to develop good water consumption habits - Global South behavioral intervention from @Kan_BE_03 and @Vivekv68 @PNASNews @iimb_official @ProfWendyWood
Setting a clear behavioral goal can spur us into action to develop good habits. New research by Vivek & co from India showed that setting personal water conservation goals helped people to repeat the right behavior to form new water-saving habits that stick!
