James, we’re in the same party. That’s exactly why I find comments like “DEI” and “go back to Brooklyn” so disappointing. Primaries exist to compete on ideas, records, and vision, not reducing fellow conservatives to stereotypes or questioning their legitimacy when others support them. Byron Donalds has received Heritage Action scores of 96% in the 117th and 118th Congresses and 100% in the 119th Congress. He has also received high ratings from other conservative organizations, including Club for Growth and CPAC. I’ve spent the last decade working to bring more people into the conservative movement. This type of rhetoric doesn’t strengthen our party. It doesn’t grow our coalition. It doesn’t persuade a single new voter. We can disagree. We can compete. But we should be better than this.

My message to every Republican running for Governor of Florida: step aside and unite behind @ByronDonalds . Florida doesn’t need a bruising primary. The South Rally in Montgomery represents everything wrong with modern politics: keeping Black Americans emotionally tied to political symbolism while avoiding honest conversations about economic empowerment, school choice, entrepreneurship, family stability, and community safety.

Too often, Black Americans are told who we must vote for instead of being shown why our vote should be earned. Real political power comes when no party can afford to take our communities for granted. Competition creates accountability. Accountability creates results. That’s the conversation we’re having on Front Porch Politics. 🇺🇸🪑

When one party believes it already owns the Black vote, and the other party assumes it can never win it, the only people left without real leverage are Black Americans. Political power is built through competition. If both parties had to genuinely fight for Black votes, our communities would see more investment, more accountability, and more results.

Black voters lost political power the moment we decided to give one party 90% of our vote. Real voting power comes when no party can take your vote for granted and every politician has to compete to earn it.

This morning I went to vote NO at the HOPE WAY polling site in Alexandria. While checking in, I mentioned I may need to grab my driver’s license from my car. An election worker (Robin is her name) told me, “You don’t need your ID, we can verify you, you’ll be fine.” I responded, no I need my ID. After finding it, I checked in and said clearly that everyone should show ID. That’s when the worker began arguing, saying “not everyone has ID, some can’t afford it, there are many reasons why.” That’s not just inappropriate, it’s electioneering from a poll worker. Totally unacceptable.

Tomorrow is Election Day. Virginia voters, the redistricting amendment is on the ballot. BCF is urging a NO vote. Show up. Speak up. Vote NO.
