The Managing Dysphagia Workshop is for care workers who work with Adults with a learning disability. This popular workshop works on gaining knowledge and confidence about the eating and drinking process, the risks, the role of a multi-disciplinary team, and the care workers' role
ALT The workshop consists of amazing speakers from Speech and Language therapists, Dietetics, Nestle representative for thickener and psychology. The speakers talk the group through a range of interactive activities about food textures, how to thicken drinks correctly, video content about the swallowing process, measuring BMI, posture when eating (physiotherapy) and informative information.
It's Swallowing Awareness day, and a large part of our role in the inpatient SLT team is making sure people are eating and drinking safely. Here are some signs to look out for, so that you can be #swallowaware2026@RCSLT
