This morning, I met with BC Public Library Partners to understand their advocacy in increasing support to our public libraries in B.C. Libraries are beyond just a place for books; they are supporting our loved ones through their services. We will continue to work together.

A great workshop with my amazing @nvdpl fellow Board trustees, senior exec and staff. We had lots of wonderful discussion and collaboration working on our new strategic plan. It’s exciting to be part of the engaging process to create the new plan. @BCLTA @NVanDistrict

It’s #LibraryMonth, and we’re celebrating our own #BCLeg Library — which houses over 400,000 print documents, some dating back to the 1500s! We❤️our Library! #BCpoli

Thank you to President @BarackObama for supporting libraries and the freedom to read. And thank you to all library workers on the front lines "fighting every day to make the widest possible range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas available to everyone." #UniteAgainstBookBans
Today, some of the books that shaped my life—and the lives of so many others—are being challenged by people who disagree with certain ideas or perspectives. And librarians are on the front lines, fighting every day to make the widest possible range of viewpoints, opinions, and ideas available to everyone.

Toronto Public Library is right to allow someone I profoundly disagree with a place to speak thestar.com/opinion/star-col… It would have been all too predictable for an institution like the library to deny a controversial speaker the right to use its space.

Ten years ago today the #Marrakesh Treaty was adopted to improve access to reading materials for people with print disabilities around the world. CELA users have benefitted with the addition of 100,000 titles to our collection and we've exchanged 18,000 with other libraries.
