We had the privilege of hosting Patricia L. Turner, M.D., the Executive Director and CEO of the American College of Surgeons @AmCollSurgeons and Clinical Professor at the University of Chicago Medicine, as a distinguished guest speaker during Grand Rounds.
The Department of Surgery had the privilege of hosting Patricia L. Turner, M.D., MBA, FACS, the Executive Director and CEO of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and Clinical Professor at the University of Chicago Medicine, as a distinguished guest speaker during Grand Rounds. Dr. Turner delivered a captivating presentation on "The Power of Quality," providing a comprehensive overview of ACS's pivotal role in supporting surgeons, advancing the field of surgery, and addressing current quality issues while proposing prospective solutions. In conjunction with her visit to Houston, a reception was organized, bringing together women surgeons from five medical institutions.

Deeksha's favorite part of med school was: "finding a group of people who share my passions and interests. I'm grateful to have mentors who have inspired me and supported my ambitions. I look forward to doing the same for students in the future"

In her free time, Deeksha loves: "cooking new recipes and trying new restaurants. I've been lucky to grow up in Houston, which has a great food scene. I also love to run in Hermann Park or Buffalo Bayou on the weekends."
