A large resource response has been hard at work on the Windy Creek Fire in British Columbia. The fire is northeast of Chetwynd in the Windy Creek area. Helicopters have been doing bucket work as heavy equipment and ground resources continue to build containment line around the fire.
Multiple fires have now been reported across British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan. Canadaās fire season is underway. The Windy Creek Fire is suspected to be a human caused fire.

The large scale tectonic force that drives the #Westmorland #earthquake swarm is extension between the Pacific & the North American tectonic plates. It is the force that opens up the Gulf of California, and the reason why the Salton Sea is there in the first place.

The #SanAndreasFault ends at the Salton Sea but the deformation does not. The #Westmorland swarm happens in a region where crustal deformation is distributed across many faults, between two tectonic plates that move away from one another (extension).

It has been busy in the Brawley Seismic Zone this week: first a swarm near El Centro with a M4.8 and numerous high 3's, and today a M4.1 much farther North near Westmorland. On this map quakes from this week are shown with a green outline, activity from April 2023 in blue.

(2/7) The 2020 Westmorland swarm occurred in the Brawley seismic zone marking the transition from the San Andreas Fault to the ridge transform system in the Gulf of California. Short-duration (a few days) swarms are quite common in this area.

In 2018 one man caught Hantavirus.
He went to a childrens birthday party, he infected 5 people, just by spending a few hours with them at a birthday party.
This 'almost impossible to transmit' is utter BS.

Erin asked my opinion about this new info, and I basically said it means weāre still trying to figure this puzzle out so we we should be a bit cautious with definitive statements about this virus.
Look, if we donāt do a good job now with quarantining and making sure we donāt have cases that arenāt original ship passengers, weāll be chasing cases here and there for weeks to months, and because of the long incubation period there will be a blanket of uncertainty over all of this.
Dr. Stephen Kornfeld, the one cruise ship passenger in the biocontainment unit who tested positive for hantavirus, tells Erin he experienced night sweats and chills before he began treating sick passengers on the ship.
