#firetwitter used to be a real tool for California residents to stay in the know, prepare for evacs, and stay safe. I know all too well how much folks depended on it. Now, tags like #parkfire have been taken over by porn bots and crypto scams. Very thankful I didn't have this issue when I helped relay #caldorfire info in 2021. Feel terrible for the people who can no longer rely on this platform. I see hundreds of people in the line of fire (literally) begging X @support and @elonmusk for help, but I'm not seeing any response. I fear the lack of response will continue (much like the vast calls for disinformation controls continue to be ignored). It's getting rough here. How unfortunate.
