ALT For those of you who don't know, our little brother has IgA nephropathy. About a year and a half ago we found out that his kidneys have given up and he went from just being a normal 20 year old college student to now being a 22 yr old listed as stage 4 kidney failure, Steven is private and doesn't love the feeling of asking for living donor offers, which is why no one really said anything. Unless you know the family on a deep personal level, you likely didnt know the situation. He still doesn't want to openly talk about a live donor option, but has said he wouldnt turn someone away as long as they know what they are truly signing up for. There has already been a lot of struggles. Failed attempts for home dialysis, currently going to hemodialysis three times a week, and overall just dealing with more than any 22 year old should have to handle. It's been a long road in just this little bit of time and we know he still has a long way to go.
