Established in 1979, BARD is a competitive funding program that supports collaborative agricultural research in areas of mutual interest to the US and Israel.
As part of BARD’s 2026 meetings in College Park, Maryland, participants visited the University of Maryland, College Park campus, touring several laboratories and research facilities. We thank all participants for their time, expertise, and valuable feedback.

Today is Stop Food Waste Day, BARD-funded research led by Dr. Noam Alkan from (ARO) and Dr. Dilip Shah from Donald Danforth Center explored an alternative to traditional fungicides, to prevent food wastage.

The BARD Food Security Technology Accelerator will follow a structured timeline, beginning with pre-proposal submissions due by March 31, followed by the final funding announcements on August 27.
