As we are out here doing our Genealogy and looking at old census records and history, it's mostly written in cursive. There are at least 3 different decades of youth who don't know how to write or read cursive. What the schools won't teach, you better have your children learn it from somewhere else. They will lose history if they don't. #Inspirenaire

We honor the life of Claudette Colvin, whose courageous refusal to surrender her seat as a teenager in Montgomery, Alabama was one of several acts of resistance that challenged segregation before the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Ms. Colvin later became one of the plaintiffs in Browder v. Gayle, the federal case that reached the Supreme Court and led to the end of bus segregation. Her life reminds us that progress is shaped not only by moments, but by sustained courage and truth. May we honor her legacy and continue the work of justice.

My gut-punch reminder that teaching is just a jobβ€”and that no matter how much you give and care, you are replaceableβ€”came when a colleague suddenly passed away, and their position was posted the same day, before the staff was even informed.
